Making all the right movies
Forbidden and Tiscali announce competition winner
Forbidden Technologies and Tiscali, the internet and broadband company, today named the winner
of their competition to create an online mini-movie of a perfect holiday, marking the successful launch of Clesh,
Forbidden’s new consumer video editing package.
The competition ran through Tiscali.co.uk from January to February 2006 with Mark Kilby
winning the prize of a dream weekend away by creating the best short film of ‘where he would rather be in January’.
Mark’s entry, http://clesh.com/tiscali_competition_winner/,
takes us from the dreary rush hour traffic, on a tour of sandy beaches, sunny surroundings and wildlife paradises.
Mark and the other competition entrants edited their videos using Clesh, taking advantage of the ability to upload
their own digital footage from a video camera, digital camera, or mobile phone or using some of the library of
travel footage provided by Simply Stream.tv.
Clesh is the first fully interactive consumer web-based editing package, harnessing the power
of the Internet to allow users to edit their own videos and share them with friends and family anywhere in the world.
Stephen Streater, CEO of Forbidden Technologies said:
"We are very pleased with the success of the competition to launch Clesh through
the Tiscali portal. Mark’s winning entry is a fantastic showcase of what consumers are now able to do with their
home videos, by embracing the power of the internet."
Richard Ayers, Portal Director and Editor of www.tiscali.co.uk said:
"This competition has been a great opportunity for our users to see just what
they can do with their home videos using the internet. The Clesh package opens up a whole world of opportunities
for the editing and sharing of home videos, and these capabilities have been demonstrated throughout this competition."
